2019 WRDS Advanced Research Scholar Program

Announcing the second annual WRDS Advanced Research Scholar Program (WARSP) and its applications at Penn Wharton China Center (PWCC) in Beijing. The conference will be held from Monday to Wednesday, August 19-21, 2019.

globeThe Advanced Research Scholar Program will provide an opportunity for scholars to discuss trends in research, explore efficient ways of handling big data, and foster interaction between scholars.

Faculty, Ph.D. students and practitioners in the Greater China region, the Asia Pacific area, and other countries are invited to participate in this exciting two and half-day seminar and workshop in the financial district of downtown Beijing.

We welcome submissions of empirical papers on any topic related to finance and accounting research. Possible topics include, but not limited to, asset pricing, corporate finance, financial intermediation, investment, and market microstructure.

To be considered for this limited seating program, please send an updated CV and one working paper in English (pdf format) via email to [email protected].

We are in the process of finalizing keynote speakers for the 2019 WARSP Conference. Past keynote speakers include Christopher Armstrong, Itamar Drechsler, Donald Keim and Daniel Taylor.

The program is intended to provide an opportunity for scholars to explore efficient and accurate ways of handling big data, and foster collaboration among scholars working in various finance and accounting fields. Empirical workshop about empirical design, new data, and research trend will be held by Research Directors from WRDS and invited Wharton faculty.

The second annual WARSP is going to present a half-day overlap with Wharton Analytics Librarian conference, which is designed for librarians and other information specialists supporting researchers in business studies. The goal of the overlapping schedule is to provide an interactive platform for both researchers and librarians to exchange thoughts and facilitate research collaboration.

BEST PAPER AWARD (1, US$1,000), sponsored by Wharton Data Research Services

The program will take place at the Penn Wharton China Center (PWCC) in Beijing, China.
